Previously doctor was writing our Advent Syrup and Junior Lanzol. We talked about introduction of our previous brand for thalassaemia i.e. KELFER 12 years back and now cipla has again taken a initiative to launch for the first time in India i.e DESIROX at very economical price containing Deferasirox 250 (Rs 24/tab)/500mg(Rs 40/tab) at fraction of prices compared to other brand - just to show the concern for Indian population.
DOCTOR’S RESPONSE:
She was impressed by the work done by CIPLA for humanity and providing care to the patient at a very human price earlier with Kelfer & now with Desirox.
After closing of our call we just said –
Being a Indian company we continuously think of Indian Patients always –whether its related to quality or its Affordability……..& being such a life saving drug we have to have the concern of both of these things…we know that you are not treating Thalassemic patients but you can also strengthen our hands or you can be a part of this Mission by supporting us for products like Advent Injs…, so that the mission of supporting Indians is being continuous run for a long long time in association with medical fraternity……
Then we discussed about ADVENT INJECTION, TAZACT INJECTION & FEVAGO SYRUP to the doctor. She stated that she will prescribe and support these products & she had immediately called other two paed. doctors and the chemist to make these products available, as the chemist was substituting Advent injection with Lactoclav.
Now doctors have started prescribing our FEVAGO SYRUP, ADVENT INJECTION and TAZACT INJECTION.

I have one 2 patients meeting one in Thalassaemia Society and other in Thalassaemia Guardian Association and briefed patients about the price benefit and Cipla's crusade against Thalassaemia. Not only that most of the patients buying kelfer has already been intimated about the launch of desirox with this benefit through patient card and newspapaper cutting. With this baring few patients who has laready purchased most of the new patients are going for Desirox from these societies. From here we are selling more than Novartis. I feel more work should be done on the patient front.
